Privacy notice

How AMB Painting Services uses your personal information. Version 1, last updated 18 October 2026.

Who we are

Shaun Brown, trading as AMB Painting Services is responsible for your personal information (the "controller" under UK data protection law).

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry through our website, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the area you live in, the type of job, and your message. We also keep a scrambled (hashed) record of the internet address and browser the enquiry came from, which we use only to detect spam. We use this information to reply to you and to prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.

When we quote or invoice you, we collect your name, contact details and address, a description of the work, the prices, and any payments you make. We need this to carry out our contract with you, and tax law requires us to keep the records.

When you accept a quote online, we record the name you type, the time, and a scrambled record of the internet address and browser used, as evidence that the quote was accepted and that you were shown your right to cancel.

Email: quotes, invoices and reminders are sent to the email address you give us. We do not send marketing email.

Who handles your information for us

We use Allpriced, a platform operated by Allpriced, to run our website, receive enquiries, and send quotes and invoices. Allpriced processes your information only on our instructions, under a written data processing agreement, and uses these providers to run the service:

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to limit how we use it, to object to our use of it, and to receive it in a form you can take elsewhere.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month. If you ask us to delete your information, we will remove your name, contact details, address and any enquiries from you. Quotes and invoices that we have already issued must be kept for six years under tax law, so those stay, and we will tell you so.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113, ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
